The Benefits of Using Air Cooled Chillers for Industrial Projects

Over time, air cooled chillers are becoming the go-to type of chiller for commercial and industrial applications. In the past, it was always assumed that water-cooled equipment was the better choice. Most will concede that water-cooled chillers probably deliver better performance, but that their requirements to get that performance make air cooled chillers an equally valid choice. Water cooled chillers rely on the addition of condenser pumps and water cooling tower fans in order to give you the results you desire. And when you're working under part load conditions, the difference between air cooled chillers and water cooled chillers essentially disappears.

At a cost level, air cooled has the advantage over water cooled because you don't need to also invest in renting or buying cooling towers and condenser water pumps. That means if you're operating a small to medium sized project that doesn't need heavy duty chilling, an air cooled chiller is the more sensible choice. That's not to say they aren't good for large industrial projects, either. On the contrary, many industries are turning towards air cooled chillers because of their cost savings.

Another benefit of air cooled equipment is that it takes up less room. You don't need to set up a mechanical room in order to run the chiller. This leaves more room in your property to do other day to day tasks. If you're running an industrial project that requires the use of a chiller, consider choosing air cooled chillers to save space and money.
