Is Your Heater Ready for Winter?

While the hot and humid summer months may have left you and your crew truly appreciating an air conditioner to keep cool while on the job, the winter months are quickly approaching and soon it will be time to crank up the heat. Although there is a short period of time in between the transition from fall to winter, you don't want to wait until last minute to turn on your heater only to realize that it's broken or doesn't produce the warm air you and your crew need.

Despite the fact that some may claim that you can go without a heater, having a heater is essential for a business to function. Working in cold air can make it difficult for employees to carry out job responsibilities to the fullest. When working in a cold environment, employees may perform their job tasks at a much slower pace, possibly causing them to miss work deadlines. In addition, cold environments may cause machinery to function slower, or you may need to spend extra time heating up machinery for it to function.

Also, working in a cold environment puts you and your employees at risk for becoming ill. Under the Workplace Regulations Act of 1992, employers are responsible for making sure their work environment is set at a comfortable temperature throughout the year to allow employees to carry out their job responsibilities. When employees become ill, they cannot work, which then reduces the number of staff members and can make completing projects on time difficult.

In order to avoid these instances, you should check your heater in advance to ensure it works. You don't want to turn it on when it becomes cold only to realize it doesn't work. If your heater is malfunctioning, you should turn it off to avoid any technical errors. You should contact a professional to examine your heater. Because ordering a heater unit for your business can be costly, you should
rent a heater. Renting as opposed to buying helps save your business money, plus you can rent the heater until Spring arrives.

Don't let low temperatures cause your business to slow down; rent a heater.

Rent the Pumps You Need from Carrier Rentals

Carrier Rental Systems is not just about providing our customers power, heating and air conditioning. We're also about demonstrating outstanding customer service. With an array of products for commercial, industrial, and special events, we have you covered no matter the situation. Simply put, Carrier knows heating and cooling, and one of the biggest components of our services is our pump rental.

Pumps are used to circulate gases and liquids. When used in a home they are normally small and sealed and are rated at a fraction of horsepower. However, when used commercially like the pumps we can provide, they are rated with many horsepower, and the motor is often separated from the pump body.

There are many benefits of a commercial pump for your business. First, a pump maintains a comfortable temperature whether it's heating or cooling, and it also reduces humidity levels. They allow for cleaner air, as well. As the pump pulls air out of the room via the return air ducts, the air is pulled through an air filter. Doing so removes airborne particles such as dust and lint, and the air is filtered again when it is returned through an air supply duct. When an air conditioning is on, this cycle is continually taking place, resulting in cleaner air. Plus, the pump system is usually outside, so it's quiet.

Carrier knows air conditioning and has been perfecting it for years. Carrier also knows how to provide cooling systems, whatever your needs may be. From comfort cooling to emergency power or spot cooling, Carrier Rental Systems can do it all. We can provide temporary cooling systems while the existing equipment receives maintenance, or we can design portable cooling systems to cool your office or school building if your existing system fails.

Whatever the situation, Carrier can design or provide a cooling rental system to fit your needs.

Rent Dehumidifiers for Industrial Work

When there is excess humidity in your workspace, our dehumidifiers are the solution you need. Ranging from everyday tasks such as painting and restoration to more serious problems such as battling flood and mold damage, a dehumidifier minimizes the mess and gets the job done.

A dehumidifier works by utilizing powerful fans and compressors to draw in air, causing it to lose heat and create condensation. The air is then expelled back into the environment and is drier than before. In order to work at an ideal level, most dehumidifiers also can adjust power, which should be set relative to the current humidity. After the machine runs for the desired amount of time, the water pulled from the environment can be removed from a built-in reservoir and tossed out. Generally, most moisture-regulating machinery operates by a refrigeration or a chemical method known as desiccation. Chemical dehumidifiers should be considered for work in low temperature environments, because condensation does not easily form.

As with any tool, be certain to pick the right dehumidifiers for the job and take their size and efficiency into consideration. The benefits of a more powerful machine become especially apparent in cold months, where construction jobs can be complicated by damp spots accumulating on exposed walls. Assume a similar large-scale scenario where an entire property has recently been plastered. Coupling high outdoor humidity with a slow-drying material would result in significant work delays without the proper technology. In this situation, a large industrial dehumidifier works wonders. The output on a larger machine is not only many times more efficient, but it may also have the capability to be attached to HVAC systems, working throughout the interior from a single location.

At the end of the job, the driest environment will produce the best work and eliminate the most hassles. Whether requiring a range of moisture controlling accessories or a single dehumidifier, trust our experience and selection in helping you make the right decision.
